Welcome to Summer 2025 on the Island

Hey there, Ink & Oak Wine Supporters!!
We’re officially raising a glass to Summer 2025 on Martha’s Vineyard—and to the launch of Ink & Oak Wine!
We’re a Black woman-owned wine brand rooted in sisterhood, culture, and the magic of long summer days on the Island. Born from years of friendship, porch conversations, and beachside sips, Ink & Oak is all about creating space for celebration, community, and connection—over great wine, of course.
This is the first edition of our monthly newsletter, where you’ll get all the goods:
🗓️ What’s happening on the Island
🍇 Behind-the-scenes wine stories
🎉 Events we’re hosting or loving
🛍️ Where to find us (and our wines!)
💌 Special drops, tastings, and updates just for our list
What’s Happening on the Island:
As another season begins, the Vineyard is quickly getting ready for another Summer of adventure. Memorial day weekend many of the stores and restaurants begin to open their doors to welcome islanders and guests back as the temperatures begin to rise. On the heels of a successful first season of Forever on Netflix as well as their other shows like Siren that were influenced by the Vineyards Vibes.
One of the things that Tiffany and I love the most about the Vineyard is the feeling of peace that you feel when you cross the water and see the Island come into view. That journey allows the weights you’ve been carrying to lift away and for your breathing to come easier. We are living in a historic time currently there there are people out there trying to disturb the peace and spaces like Martha’s Vineyard are more important than ever for helping to protect that peace.
When you sing in a choir, there are times where a piece may call for an extended note to be hit and someone recently reminded me that when you are in a group, you have to stagger your breathing throughout so that anyone who needs to pause and breathe can while everyone else is carrying the note and after you’ve had a breathe, you join back in so someone else can breathe. My time in Martha’s Vineyard often is my step back moment to breathe. It’s a place where I am reminded of how easy life CAN be, that we are all better together and that small towns and communities can be beautiful, messy, wonderful and fun.
Behind-the-scenes wine stories:
Right now we have a beautiful website, we’ve got some wonderful partners we are working with, we’ve got some excellent merch available and we are working on the wine!! We are 2.5 years into this labor of love and as with any business, we’ve hit a few road bumps but we’ve also had some major moments of alignment and synergy that are keeping us moving forward.
Events we’re hosting or loving:
I’ve put together a list of upcoming Martha’s Vineyard events for the season that I will be updating throughout the summer - https://asithappens.co/2025-save-the-dates-for-events-in-marthas-vineyard/ but we will also be sharing individual events as they approach in the newsletter like the upcoming Juneteenth events and Taste of the Vineyard (which is sold out and a very hot ticket right now!)
Where You’ll Find Us This Summer:
This first year, we are here to help and will be popping up at some of your favorite spots around the Island with pours, pairings, and a little bit of joy in every glass. We are excited for you to see our ad in The Martha's Vineyardblack-Owned Business Directory, we will be popping up a Sideline and other beautiful stores in August and available on Island or virtually to curate a tasting just for you. Stay tuned for our full event calendar coming in July!
Special Drops, Tastings and Updates:
How can you be of help you ask?!? Buy some of our beautiful merchandise that will help us continue to finance this project into our hard launch in 2026. If there’s something you want to see from us, let us know and we can probably create it. Have an event coming up and want to support us by buying some merch for your guests. This Month’s Sip of Wisdom:
"Let this summer be soft, slow, and soaked in good wine."
Whether you're an Island regular or it’s your first time touching down in Oaks Bluff, we’re so excited to be part of your Vineyard memories this season.
Thank you for being here from the beginning. You’re not just on our list—you’re part of the story. Cheers to all that’s ahead!
